I wanted the ‘Augmented Self’ series is capturing different types of ego that exist within each human individual. I tried to create a performance piece rather than simple photography. Performance art is done and gone. But I wanted to record this real-life performance rather than capture the moment. Lights reflected on my body are photographed using a time exposure technique. The photographed body figure doesn’t have any solid structure. Instead, it is slightly shown like the soul that’s left behind. I’m trying to express an individual’s inner personality through traces from the overlapped see-through figures. My constant movement confuses the vision but I’m still there.

These are outputs of photographic experiments in studio in order to create final environmental self-portraits.
